Reviews & Ratings for 26" Widescreen LCD HDTV, Black I had be looking at 26 inch LCDs for a while. The old CRT in our bedroom was humming and turning off (plus it was just...old). We have a larger Samsung downstairs, so I was immediately drawn to look at Samsungs. The price on the 26 Samsungs was fine, the picture was good, good but I couldn't stop myself from staring at the LG with its gorgeous design and fantastic picture. I came online and purchased my 26LG30 from PCConnection. For this price, I was blown away. The picture was crisp and bright with no burnt pixels. The remote is easy to use. I picked up HD channels without a box. The design is gorgeous - simple, understated, incredibly elegant. The LED light is a dim blue when the TV is on and red when it is off. The light is dim; it doesn't distract you whatsoever. The picture is better than almost all of the TVs I looked at. It puts out 720p and looks great. I have not tried video games with it, but I can imagine they look great. Channels change rapidly.
My only gripes are the sound and the stand. For sound, my CRT had better speakers. The sound is tinny and the bass just doesnt 'mix'. By no means is it awful, but it could be improved. The stand is fine, it holds the TV straight and doesn't wobble THAT bad, but assembly was fairly complex and I am still worried that a hefty bump into the dresser may tip it over.
