The claim that it lasts 8 hours is pretty accurate. I typically get between 7 and 7.5 hours, typically with using the internet, word processing programs, etc. The Acer power setting automatically dims the screen when you unplug the AC adapter, to save battery life, but you can change this setting.
The laptop is extremely light, which combined with the long battery life makes it perfect for me to take to 5 hours of classes. I was concerned in the beginning because the screen feels slightly flimsy, but it is actually built very well.
Fan noise is virtually non-existent, I think I've only heard the fan for a total of 20 seconds. Even though the fan rarely turns on, the laptop stays incredibly cool to the touch, making it easy to use as a real "lap"-top.
The Crystal Eye Webcam is easy to access and use, although I've only tested it out for this review.
The memory (3GB RAM) isn't bad, but the computer sometimes gets a little slow when I have more than 3 or 4 programs running at once (including background programs).
The hard drive space (320GB -- about 250GB available when I received the computer due to pre-installed programs) is incredible, especially because my last laptop only had 80GB to start. I keep digital photos, movies, games, etc on my computer, and I still have 144GB free (I've had the laptop for over a month now).

It is still like new. You could not ask for a better laptop for the price!

It's a little heavier towards the back. I get at least 6 to 7 hours on a battery charge. The only thing I don't like is the mouse buttons. They are recessed and slightly hard to use. I had an HP before and the buttons are slightly raised and easier to use. But overall, its a great computer. I use it for word processing, internet, and general office use.
