I just had to have one! It is a slpendid game, music, internet and email device. I can see well on it, love the portability and its beauty. I love being able to send my grandson an email without haviing to boot up my desktop computer. All that is lacking is a simple PIM for us old Palm users!

Reviews & Ratings for iPod Touch 16GB (Sept 08) 2nd Generation I purchased this ipod to replace my 5G model.
I will get my complaints out of the way first:
First of all, it refuses to cooperate with any older ipod accessories or third party software. I have a JVC deck in my car with a native ipod control cable but apple has changed the interface on the newer ipods so that not only will it not play music through the interface, it won't even charge.
Second, they removed disk mode from this model. It was very convenient to have the option of plugging the ipod in and transferring a few files to it in case my thumb drive was not handy.
Thirdly, you are now required to use iTunes. You used to have some other options on a windows machine like winamp. This is the biggest of my concerns. No MP3 player/library should EVER take 300MB of memory, especially if it's not even playing a song or syncing a library. To be fair, iTunes works slightly better on my macbook pro, but it still takes over 30 seconds to launch and I hardly have 4GB of songs in the library.
For the good:
Screen is great Keyboard is great Sound is great I love the pandora application App store and ITMS built in is great Hard keys for volume control are nice, but it would be even nicer if they could be configured for track skipping. Wifi is a nice addition
