This really did make a difference with my 52" sammy 850 series lcd, contrast levels became more stable. I have my directv line running through the coax protector and it hasn't affected the signal any. Protects just as well as the 'bigger' (and more expensive) brands. The only thing I have against it is the cord plug, it is a flat-type plug, but it is at a 90-degree angle not 45 or something like that--the outlet I have it plugged into has the switched plug on the bottom and the active outlet on top; with this plugged in it blocks the lower outlet. The picture on the packaging shows a 45-ish angle on the plug but the plug inside is 90. Not a deal buster but it just means I have to swap the outlet around. Also, this device doesn't seem to have the automatic voltage detection/disconnection that some other products do, the technology that disconnects all connected equipment if the voltage is too high or too low and then reconnects when its at a safe level. The joule rating on this is a lot higher than other products, and when the protection wears out, an audible alarm sounds according to the manual, thats when you know to call tripp lite and get a replacement. Overall, a fantastic product and a bargain price.
