It is light weight, the new/improved battery has longer life, and the picture quality is far better than anything I use it for at work... I do a lot of pics around 60-100 ft in the air and I can zoom in to see small parts and pieces that I can't normally see from the ground. PCConnections had the best price around on this particular model (with free shipping on top of that), and since it was a purchase for work, the price was a nice suprise to the boss and didn't break our budget!

This camera is AWESOME for the non professional, I LOVE the panorama feature and the tilting 3inch LCD screen. I know some people give this camera just OK reviews because it doesn't have RAW image but I love the point and shoot and would never waste that much time of my life trying to fix the pictures afterwards anyways. I am super happy with my purchase!

Image stabilization and anti shake produce good images with the long lens. The burst modes are great for shooting changing subject like birds and other wildlife.

Anyone vaguely familiar with a digital camera can take this camera out of the box and put it to use without reading the instructions. The camera provides the flexibility to shoot on auto and gives you the option to shoot with either aperture or shutter speed priority, something that enables you to take great pictures in all conditions.

The Panorama mode itself almost pays for the camera, as it is the sweetest feature I've ever seen in a camera. As long as it's used correctly, it produces amazing panoramas effortlessly. The burst mode is a close second - with 10 shots in one second, whatever moment it is you're trying to capture, you will, guaranteed. They also make pretty neat animated GIFs. The only problem is that the noise correction software in the camera is on permanent overdrive, especially in low light situations. Exposure is great due to the larger sensor but pictures come back blocky and grainy due to the NR. Oh well. As long as you have a steady hand it isn't normally a huge deal, and is by no means a deal-breaker. I'd definitely recommend the camera, as you'll never get tired of showing off that 20x zoom (40x with digital! That's like 980mm equivalent) to anybody who will listen...

Relevant information show on the screen to help understand the different settings. The picture quality is excellent, from wide angle to full zoom. The macro pictures are particularly good. The quality of movies, shot in full HD, is also remarkable. Only little "regret": the sensitivity to light could be better in interior; even in daylight, you cannot turn off the flash or the pictures will be dusty. Overall it is an excellent camera: you can fully trust the Intelligent Auto Adjustment system to pick the right settings for the best picture, but you are also free to set your own for a more original or artsy result.
