Reviews & Ratings for iMac 24"/2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo/2GB RAM/320GB/SuperDrive/HD2600 Pro This is my first mac (imac 24"). It was a very easy transition from Windows. Less wires, more space on my desk. The large display is beautiful and plenty of real estate to run software development tools (my primary use). I also run Windows XP using VMWare Fusion and do not see a performance hit (plus I upgraded the memory on the imac to 4GB). I did switch from the included apple mouse to a wireless microsoft laser mouse.

Reviews & Ratings for iMac 24"/2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo/2GB RAM/320GB/SuperDrive/HD2600 Pro I am a new mac owner, finally could not take my vista PC anymore made the switch. This computer is awesome, startup out of the box is great, never a question of what the system is doing unlike windows.
Only change I would have made with order would have been to get the wireless kbd and mouse
I should have done this a long time ago.

Reviews & Ratings for iMac 24"/2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo/2GB RAM/320GB/SuperDrive/HD2600 Pro We were in the market for a new home PC for a long time. I shopped around to everywhere you can think of, including several auctions on eBay. When it came down to it, PCConnection was a better choice because you know you're getting a new product with Warranty. I love the iMac and wonder why it took me so long to switch from Windows after all these years.

Reviews & Ratings for iMac 24"/2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo/2GB RAM/320GB/SuperDrive/HD2600 Pro I have been a Mac user for several years with my business. I purchased the iMac after our XP machine caused too many issues. Now the entire household is Mac. I wish we would have made the switch earlier.
The iMac is easy to use, easy to learn, and the switch from Windows to Mac was very easy. The 24" screen is awesome! The machine is very well made, fast, and quiet.

Reviews & Ratings for iMac 24"/2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo/2GB RAM/320GB/SuperDrive/HD2600 Pro I feel like at just over $1000 this is a pretty good deal. We went with the 24" over the 20" because there was no price difference and the larger and faster HD. The 24" is a little ostentatious. I wish that you were able to get the same performance in a small mac that you get with their larger models. Other than that complaint I see no cons the glossy display may not be the best for some but I have not noticed it as a problem.

Reviews & Ratings for iMac 24"/2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo/2GB RAM/320GB/SuperDrive/HD2600 Pro This screen is amazingly clear, and the whole thing is silent. This is my first MAC, and I love it so far! It only came with 2 GB of ram, but i upped it to 4 right away. You gotta have 4 if you're running a lot of programs at once.

Reviews & Ratings for iMac 24"/2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo/2GB RAM/320GB/SuperDrive/HD2600 Pro I just switched from being a PC user for 12 years. I used to always build my PCs but recently began purchasing Dells. I tend to purchase (or build) a new PC yearly. I made the plunge and switched to a Mac and love it. It has not gotten old at all. I'm constantly finding new things to do with it. It's just fun. As my old boss used to say, he used Windows PCs at work because he had to but he used Macs at home because he chose to. It's simply a fun experience. Nevermind the fact that it is fast, reliable, stable and intuitive. I only gave it a 4 out of 5 for performance because 320GB is a bit a limitation these days. I plan to upgrade to a 1TB drive soon. The video card and processor combo are fast. Running Team Fortress 2 at 1920x1200 (native resolution) through Crossover Games it average 60 - 90 FPS and peaks at 125FPS. It's super fast and looks beautiful. Mine came with a free upgrade to iLife 09 which I didn't find in the description -- it was a pleasant surprise for sure.

Reviews & Ratings for iMac 24"/2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo/2GB RAM/320GB/SuperDrive/HD2600 Pro A beautifully sleek computer with a slick intuitive OS. OS X Leopard is by far the best I've experienced after 10 years of boring Windows (reminds me of sgi IRIX). I've always admired Apple/MAC but had to work on a PC for ACAD. I felt tortured. I had enough of that plain, boring, unintuitive OS. And Mac is not a toy (only to those with no taste). It's made by creative people for creative people. I read a comment from a PC user who tried a new iMac and about how OS X Leopard was expensive, and this, and that. It's $129! Vista starts at $199 for Home Basic and goes on up over $300. I guess the years of using Windows has corrupted his mind, literally. OS X Leopard is intuitively fantastic and offers almost everything one could want or need in one simple package. Printers are a breeze to set up. The same for networks. Sharing. Maneuvering around the OS X environment with Finder (List,.. Cover Flow..), Spotlight,..etc. is brilliant. And with backup apps like SuperDuper! and Time Machine recovery is fast and painless. This is almost flawless and stress free compared to the years I spent going mad with Windows. But I guess it's like personal taste with cars; you either like it or you don't. There's no way to reason why someone would love Windows when there's Mac OS X and a computer as gorgeous as an iMac.
This is actually my second iMac. My first one was a late 2006 model bought Jan 2007. I only wish I had waited for the aluminum model and upgraded to OS X Leopard sooner. I also have an iPhone, iPod Classic, and Airport Extreme as well.

Reviews & Ratings for iMac 24"/2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo/2GB RAM/320GB/SuperDrive/HD2600 Pro Two years ago I bought a PC with Vista and, without fail, it crashes at least once a day. With my daughter going to college in the fall, it was time to buy an iMac followed by a Macbook for her so that we can communicate through iChat. I can't get near my new iMac because my kids are on it all the time. It is much faster than the PC and much more reliable than Vista. It was ready to go right out of the box and hooked up with my wireless router for internet in a matter of seconds, unlike the PC. Even the keyboard is easier to use than I thought it would be. I used Macs back in the 90s but had to switch to PC for work-related reason. No more. I'll never buy another PC again.
By the way, 24 hours after I ordered the iMac through MacConnection it was on my doorstep (likewise a printer a bought a week later) and the shipping was free. Best service I've ever seen.

Reviews & Ratings for iMac 24"/2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo/2GB RAM/320GB/SuperDrive/HD2600 Pro I've been a user of Macs for over 25 years. I own a design firm with 10 Mac workstations. I recently bought the iMac to upgrade the home office computer. This thing rocks...it's easily the best computer for the way I use it - Photoshop, Lightroom and the CS 4 suite all perform beautifully and fast.
The 24" monitor is a work of art. The only problem is, I've got to upgrade my office furniture - it makes everything else in the room look shabby.
Guess I'll have to design a new desk and chair in Sketchup and build something cool to go with it...

Reviews & Ratings for iMac 24"/2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo/2GB RAM/320GB/SuperDrive/HD2600 Pro Incredible screen. Fast processor. Worth every penney. I will never understand why people dont see the real value in a Mac purchase- no need to buy extras, no virus threats. Great depth to speaker sound when listening to music or audio on movie. Could replace a TV set.

Reviews & Ratings for iMac 24"/2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo/2GB RAM/320GB/SuperDrive/HD2600 Pro After researching numberous computers, and trying to keep up with the tech boom (I knew as soon as I bought something there would be something bigger, faster and better), I ended up purchasing the iMac 24" Superdrive Pro 2.8GHz. My new computer had to have a lot of memory cause I use it for picture editing, music (iTunes, etc), and videos. And so far so good. Being new to Apple software, it was an easy switch. Took a day or two to get used to, but so much simpler than PC. For the price you can not beat it. The new iMac has 3.06 GHz processor, this model has 2.8 GHZ. Now if you can honestly sit there and tell me which processor is faster with only a .206 difference... Congrats your a geek. But if your not gaming and are going to need a computer to do basic home needs extremely well, then this is for you.

Reviews & Ratings for iMac 24"/2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo/2GB RAM/320GB/SuperDrive/HD2600 Pro The first computer I ever used was an Apple II in 1979 ish in school. I then later bought an AppleIIe used, and used it for a couple of years before being pulled to the dark side. I think I was scared of by the new GUI of the Macs... silly kid. I think of all the hours, days, weeks of fiddling with various window products. I would guess a minimum of a month of my life was wasted trying to fix/repair/use windows based systems. This iMac has been great. I plugged it in, turned it on, and it worked. And it still works. Every time. I transferred 14000 photos and videos which work flawlessly and simply with iPhoto/iMovie. I transferred 15GB of music and iTunes also worked great - although I did have to copy the album art from my backup drive as it wouldn't recognize it automatically. To connect to my router I all I needed was to enter the password - on a pc I would have spent 1/2 hour wondering why it would find it! I even replaced my linksys with a timecapsule. In less than 5 minutes I was up and running, and backing up my files. I added an airport express and a set of old pc speakers downstairs, and in 5 minutes I was streaming my music thru the house. Why oh why did I forsake the small fruit company. Why didn't I buy stock!?! Please forgive me....
