So what is my beef? Simply put: When you open any previous document created by Office (previous to 2008 ed.), you get a blank page.
When you go hunting for possible problems, you discover on MicroQuish's website that MQ knows about this problem, has known about it for some time, and currently is doing absolutely nothing to resolve it.
Now, let's add some icing on this cake: After you remove your newly purchased "MS Office MHS 2008," and reinstall your previous version of MS Office, you will discover that any prior 2008 document that you had opened WITH Office 2008, will open as a blank page. Any doc that you DID NOT open with v.2008 will open correctly.
My suggestion: Download OpenOffice or NeoOffice for free. Then you can open and save all your documents in MS Office format or several other popular formats.

Microsoft Office Mac Home + Student 2008 Although always schizophrenic in its Mac incarnation as it attempts to conform to both Windows and Mac reqs on GUIs, MS Office on the Mac continues to come out ahead with an update that I find to be an incremental improvement over the previous version, whereas the Windows edition is not only a near-complete restructuring, but a confusing and awkward one as well.

It works, but in a way that's completely different than any other incarnation of Office ever created. Not badly, just the mechanics of it, which can be infuriating. I bought it because I converted over from Windows, and I was sick of the hassle, and didn't want to relearn software. So yes, it works, and it does what it's supposed to. I expected no different. Yawn.

Our church purchased Office for the Mac, only because you have to be ready for all presentations from anybody. It keeps our department from having to convert files that someone has spent hours putting together in PowerPoint and losing it in the translation for Keynote. We just say a prayer for these people that at some point they will be converted!
There is somewhat of a learning curve, unless you come from a PC w/Vista of Office 2007. Then they are the same.

Microsoft Office Mac Home + Student 2008 Office 2008 does not recognize visual basic macros consequently it cannot be used with the spreadsheets I've developed without rewriting thousands of lines of code. I'm hoping there will be an update to correct this. Otherwise the program is great for basic word processing, email, excel, etc.
