The new Mac Pro features the next-generation 64-bit Quad-Core Intel Xeon Nehalem processor. With four cores on one die and an integrated memory controller, the Intel Xeon Nehalem processor boosts performance nearly 2x. A completely new interior makes it even easier to add up to 8GB of memory, four PCI Express expansion cards, and up to 4TB of hard drive storage. A powerful NVIDIA graphics card provides the fastest-ever Mac graphics, while a new Mini DisplayPort gives you more display options. Add all of that with the power of Snow Leopard, and your Mac Pro is a force to be reckoned with.

Reviews & Ratings for MacPro 2.66GHz Intel Xeon Quad Core/6GB/640GB/SuperDrive/NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 You would think it would be simple to switch from one Mac to another. Think again! "Just connect the two with a firewire" it says. But the Mac Pro has a firewire port which won't accept the firewire cable that goes into the Mac Mini. Luckily I had an auxiliary hard drive where I had backed up all my files. That connected with the Mac Pro no problem (it's not an Apple product). Try opening some older software. Forget it. I had to buy new upgrades for some of the software I use daily. Not even a message popped up, telling me the software wouldn't work on this system. Then there were the email addresses which I had to go back to the mini and export, save onto a memory stick and reimport since the old Mail program wouldn't open on the new system. Each time I had to disconnect the monitor and connect it to the other computer, then back again. This is just a short list of the many problems I had upgrading to the new Mac OS. They should rewrite the instructions to tell you all the settings you have to export and transfer, so you could do that ahead of time. It was a bad experience. Other than that. The new mac works great. Wish it had stickies (all of which I lost in the transfer).
