Time Capsule - 500GB
The 500GB Time Capsule is not just a wireless hard drive, it’s also a full-featured 802.11n Wi-Fi base station with simultaneous dual-band support. It works automatically with Time Machine in Mac OS X Leopard to create the perfect no-hassle backup solution. There are no cables, and you can back up all the computers in your home to a central location.
Connect your DSL or cable modem to Time Capsule, then quickly set it up with the easy-to-use AirPort Utility, which is included for both Mac OS X and Windows. Within minutes, you and up to 50 others can use your Mac computers or PCs to surf the web, stream video, share photos, and more without wires. You can even set up a separate Wi-Fi network with a separate password for your visitors. Simply enable the new guest networking feature, and your guests can use the Internet but can’t access other parts of your private network, such as your computers, printers, and attached hard drives.
Plus, print documents, photos, and more from any room in your home or office to a central printer connected to Time Capsule via USB.

Reviews & Ratings for Time Capsule 500GB with Simultaneous Dual-band 802.11n Wi-Fi Except for the high price, the 500 GB Time Capsule is an perfect product. I was fully set up and operational in less than 10 minutes, including incorporating my Vonage voip adapter. And I'm no technological whiz.
Just remember to turn off "Time Machine" when you're not within range of the Time Capsule (as when working offsite), or you'll get backup error messages when you return to home base. But even if you forget, all you have to do to reset Time Machine is open Time Machine preferences, slide the switch to off, close the window, reopen the window, and slide to switch to on again. Or just restart your computer. Easy fix.

Pros: design, easy to use Cons: apple price premium
Reviews & Ratings for Time Capsule 500GB with Simultaneous Dual-band 802.11n Wi-Fi To ensure that I have a reliable backup of all business files I searched for a ethernet based solution for our Mac based network. The solution had to be ethernet based because the backup had to be located remote from our office location (about 60 feet away to reduce fire and theft risk).
Other solutions could not confirm that their drives would work seamlessly with Time Machine.
As expected with Apple the setup was just plug it in and walk through a simple setup. We have an existing wireless system so I just disabled WiFi on the Time Capsule.
As has been my past experience ordering and delivery from MacConnection was simple and painless.

Reviews & Ratings for Time Capsule 500GB with Simultaneous Dual-band 802.11n Wi-Fi Apple's Time Capsule is perfect for the Mac-owning family that doesn't want to take the time to back up manually. Until I got our Time Capsule, my wife would never back up her hard drive. Now, it's automated!
I really like being able to separate out traffic between different spectrums. Our iPhones and older computers operate at 2.4 GHz, and our newer MBPs operate on the 5GHz 801.11n draft network. The options for network attached storage via USB as well as printer sharing are amazing. Setup is easy!
As is always the case with Apple, the build quality, ease of use and feature set are excellent.
