I used the migration assistant to pick up my profiles from my G4 Sawtooth. It was very stable right away. Coming from a G4, the performance increased capabilities were quite noticeable; plus, beautiful screen! I also noticed that my DSL performance got much better without any change to my DSL service or equipment. It's just been a pleasure to use.
The only complaint is a disk drive spinning-up whine that is quite loud through my speakers or headphones connected to the external audio jack.

So far it has been very stable. I have upgraded to Snow Leopard but don't see much difference in behavior over Leopard. I am treating it as an upgrade rather than a new operating system. I hope the internal changes will be a stepping stone to major changes in future operating systems. I have sold my two previous I-Macs to friends and they are very happy with their purchases. Selling used equipment to friends can be problematical!!

Switching to the iMac, I not only enjoyed the increased speed, but large 24" monitor is great. No need for the duel monitors. I just wish Apple had low-gloss as an option.
For prints, right out of the box the monitor colors seem to match my Epson 2880 printer perfectly.
And best of all, the set up is so easy. Plug one end of the power cord in to the wall and the other end into the monitor - that's it!
We were so impressed, we're changing our own store's point-of-sales system from Windows to the iMac.
My only CON is the small keyboard. Doesn't fit my fat fingers. I added a wireless keyboard and mouse.

I had to send back the mouse--the top had some dull patches--customer service shipped a new one out next day air. How cool is that? The guy with the power cord problem should have called Macconnection first.
The computer's speakers are fine they just don't crank up very loud that's why you need to get some nice external speakers with a subwoofer! Just like an HDTV you need to accessorize.
I always recommend Macconection because they have the best prices, free shipping and best customer service.

This is our first imac purchase and love it. Most of what I use a computer for is video and photo editing and this is definitely the best system for it. Can use it straight out of the box and it is a simple and clean system. Just a monitor so doesn't take up much space and looks great in any room. Maybe not as many bells and whistles as our PC but in the end you really don't end up using some of the extras anyway. Glad we made the switch.

But Buyer Beware, the iMac shipped with the sawed-off keyboard. No Number pad or dedicated Home, Page up, Page Down, and End Keys.
If you have spent years using the number keypad, it was very depressing to open the box and see shortened keyboard. Now I need to order the longer keyboard at extra expense.
Don't know why they did it, but I feel like Apple short-changed their loyal customer base with this one.

Beautiful monitor, blazing speed and incredible design! The shortened keyboard was the only disappointment, but I purchased a full sized one and I'm a happy camper. With 4 gb of ram, and a 650 gb hard drive, there's no need for an upgrade unless you are a super power user. My experience with MacConnection, as it's been over the last 10 years, was great. I recommend this machine, and recommend MacConnection.
