I sold my PC and I have been a PC user for over 20 years. Snow Leopard is an elegant OS that is well integrated into the Mac. The only negative, which is not really a negative is that I had to buy a copy of Windows to put on my MAC so I can run my games. A great product and I would highly recommend.

I bought this one since my son's PC broke and I gave him my old 24" Mac. It was the least I could do. I installed the Snow Leopard OS without any problems. Everything runs great. I especially like the big screen since I do a lot of shop drawings. It lets me see the entire drawing without having to scroll. It is also a very quiet machine.

It's easy to use as I have already set up two web sites, and completed dozens of other business and personal functions with ease. The monitor has brillant color and the speed of the machine is terrfic. I use the "Spaces" window daily and find it to be very useful. The iMac is all that I expected and more...much more. My previous Macs have been the 450 MHz G4 and Mac II Si. I have no desire or future plans on buying a PC. Using one at work is torture enough.

It has been a solid performer and a good value. We added this machine primarily for use with processor-intensive tasks such as music and video applications. With an external 24" monitor, in addition to the 24" iMac, there is plenty of screen real estate and the performance is more than adequate. If you want a desktop machine and don't require a Mac Pro this is a great computer.

Using the energy saver features allows use of sleep mode to prolong the life of your screen and drives while easily resuming work with the touch of a key. You may never need to shut down. OS X Leopard is now an extremely stable OS, there has not been a single glitch or freeze since powering it up. I run a 2nd 22" monitor in portrait mode - up and running in 2 minutes. Absolutely best feature is replacing another Mac with Time Machine Backup. Simply switch the cable - come back 7 hours (400 gb) later and everything including software and personal settings is installed on your new machine.

I have been a loyal customer of Microsoft products and only belittled the Mac for years. I still believe that the Mac was inferior to Windows until recently. I have been watching Apple for about 3 years releasing one exciting product after the other (this is one of them). Now Apple is worlds ahead of Windows hardware and software. This iMac is a powerhouse with a great OS preloaded. Things on the Mac tend to ‘just work’ - efficiently without hassle and waiting. Switching to the Mac has been easier then I thought. I don’t miss Windows a bid. Now I have a beautiful fast and stable computer with a gorgeous screen in my living room. Wait until you work your pictures and other media with iLife. You will be in ha! What an improvement!

Being an old and long-time Mac user but having had to rely on a PC for the last few years, this item has certainly made my professional life much easier in terms of time management and efficient and effective production of the intended results - because everything works with a Mac the way it should. It always have and always will. As for the beauty of the design: also that aspect is nothing to overlook.
