Each one was more disappointing than the last. So this time I decided to switch to Mac. From the moment I stepped inside the store I knew I had made the right choice. Friendly AND Knowledgeable staff who took the time to answer all of my questions and concerns over conversions. As for the computer itself, it is extremely quiet and has a beautiful display. Ease of set-up speaks for itself as my 3 year old daughter was able to plug the one cord into the wall. I am thrilled with the software that comes on the computer and especially the lack of junk software that seems to clutter every PC I have ever owned and slow it down over time. I have yet to determine the reliability of it as I have only owned it for 1 month, but am impressed with the feel and look of quality of the computer. Only downsides were having to purchase a few pieces of software I used on PCs that wouldn't work on my Mac and the change in keyboard shortcuts from one button to another. Other than those minor and very temporary adjustments, I am so far thrilled with this computer and my mac experience thus far!

Believe it or not! They are really great. If I need to complain it would be where is the number key pad? I hate that you don't have one on the keyboard! I had to purchase USB number pads just so no one complained, including myself. Very inconvenient to use the mouse and click on the calculator. Also I think the Find is very different and difficult to navigate. The Emacs were so easy. Apple F and type. Not anymore! Some new changes just were NOT necessary and are NOT very helpful! Just my opinion. But, overall , I love the machine!

When i asked if i needed a Firewire to transfer data from my old G-4 Mac she said yep, that's a 4 pin to 8 pin; just like that! I was astounded.
Follow through and emails telling me when my new IMac would arrive were accurate and timely. I can't say enough good things about Mac Connection.

Unlike its predecessor, it is so quiet I leave it on all the time. The keyboard and mouse that come with the iMac are gorgeously simple. However, I soon switched back to using my old full function keyboard and mouse. The iMac's built in USB ports filled up almost immediately, so I added a 7 port USB hub. Upgrading the RAM to 4GB was easy. I am going to add a second monitor and hope that will go as well.

We made the switch from a PC because the Mac products are easy to use and present a more professional look to worship songs and sermon presentations. We have also made some great videos for our school and special TV meetings.
Our PC's seemed to always have a glitch happening during critical parts of the worship service. We have had no problems so far in three years with the Mac. We even use one to record the service in order to burn cd and dvds. It was cheaper than buying a standalone recorder, and is much more flexible using Garage Band.

My iMac is used daily for composing music with Garageband, writing reports with Word & Excel 2008, tracking projects attachments and emails with Entourage, tracking my business finances with Quickbooks and remote tech support to my many clients using either VPN or MS Remote Desktop Connection (RDC). I just recently installed Sun's Virtualbox so I can run Win XP & Solaris on my iMac for my other IT work. I love Time Machine. Backing up and restoring my files is so easy.

But switching from Windows is a real test of patience. Especially getting Bellsouth set up. Neither Mac or Bell South tech supports had the most current information about the other, so was a frustrating process. I like the IMac more as time goes on. An am sure I'll be a big fan.

Simple to use and quieter than the G5 pro that it is replacing. I have not done any video editing as of yet to see the difference. All peripherals work great, firewire 400 and 800 and usb hubs to card readers all work the same as the G5.
