My Daughter on her new mac mini!

She is going for Graphic Design, and I had heard that Macs are better for that sort of stuff. It has the performance that she needs for her work and it was at an affordable price too. Her/I had never used a Mac before, but she got used to it rather quickly, and she loves it. And the size is a definitely a plus (it won't take up a lot of space in her dorm). Overall I am glad I got this, and I'm sure she is too.

If you are in the market for a new home machine, or even business, I recommend looking at this unit. When compared to a $500 Windows PC, I think you are better of going with a Mac mini.

Now that the macs are 100% over the pc, I was determined not to pay it. A nearby lightning strike took out my G4. I was using my sisters pc and just could not stand it. I had to buy a mac. The mini cut the cost a bit because I already had a keyboard & 24 inch screen. it's worth every penny. Not just quiet, but silent. No noticeable heat, either. Large speed increase even on the web.

Great buy when comparing other computers with the exact same specs. The software that comes with it for managing and editing photos, movies, creating DVDs, podcasts, websites and music is better than average and you don't get this kind of software with other computers. Can run both Vista or XP and Mac OS using Bootcamp that comes with the computer. Another way to go is buy the low end version and purchase 4GB of RAM and a larger hard drive online and have an Apple certified dealer install both and save money. Doesn't come with a remote but can control iTunes and Keynote presentations with iPod Touch. Great for Media center instead of iTV.

It was absurdly simple to set up and now I control it from my main Mac by means of screen sharing since the Mini hides in a closet away from everything. It seems much faster than I expected.

I purchased the Mac mini, along with a DVI to HDMI adapter (Newegg,N82E16812226015) and a Audio cable adapter (N82E16882021057). This allowed direct connection to a Sony flat screen TV. The Airport network connection and Blue tooth remote Keyboard connection allowed an easy set up for viewing movies and TV shows, as well as iTunes music through the TV and AV systems. Set up was easy, and the Mac mini performed well. You can even access the internet for browsing and email right from your couch. The Mac mini even configures the Video resolution correctly through the DVI to HDMI adapter interface. This is a great application for a small compact computer. I would recommend this combination for anyone looking to add a internet access to the living room.
