Featuring a compact design that makes it a natural addition to any television setup, the Wii console can be displayed either vertically or horizontally. The console is roughly the size of 3 DVD cases stacked on top of each other. The Wii console communicates wirelessly with the Internet via IEEE 802.11 or a USB 2.0 LAN adaptor. Wii also can connect wirelessly with Nintendo DS. The Wii is backward-compatible to all Nintendo GameCube games and includes four ports for controllers and two slots for memory cards. PowerPC CPU (code-named Broadway), made with a 90nm SOI CMOS process, jointly developed with and manufactured by IBM; GPU developed with ATI. A single self-loading media bay plays single- or double-layered 12-cm optical discs for the Wii console, as well as 8-cm Nintendo GameCube discs. Four Wii Remote controllers can communicate with Wii, which features a bay for an SD memory card. The Wii console can communicate with the Internet even when the power is turned off. The WiiConnect24 service delivers a new surprise or game update, even if the system is idle. Users can connect wirelessly using IEEE 802.11 or a USB 2.0 LAN adaptor. Bundled with the hardware, Wii Sports delivers a natural, intuitive and realistic feel to five different sports.

Reviews & Ratings for Nintendo Wii Console This console has all the best in new game console features with the exception of HD media capability. Awesome motion detection controllers, with clicking, vibrating feedback in the controllers. Compared to other game consoles out there it is affordable and has superior controller tech, but don't try to play your HD DVD movies on it. You'll need a PS3 or Xbox for that. Also there are not many games for this console. If you like first person shooters this may not be the console for you.

Reviews & Ratings for Nintendo Wii Console When I first got the "Wii" it came with the Wii sports disk - I totally enjoyed the different activities especially the bowling. The thing about the ""Wii" that I like is that its more than a video arcade that you sit in front of for hours - it involves you, you have to act out the actions of the sport as if you were at the bowling alley, golf course, or cross country course. But the "Wii" became more important to me when I purchased the Wii fit disk. When I began I weighed approximately 252 pounds, over the course of the year (actually 320+ days) I have reached a weight of 185.5-193lbs. In the beginning I was just doing the exercises on the game and then tracking the resulting weight loss but as I began noticing the progress that I was making I added more exercises (free weights) as well as dieting to the regimen; I bought "The Hottest Dance Party" and added aerobic dance to my workouts. If it weren't for the feature on the "Wii" that tracks your progress I may not ever have come as far as I have health wise. While this may be more of a testimonial than a review, I said it all to say that owning the Wii has changed my life - I am so much healthier today because of the way that its programs have encouraged me; I would recommend it to anyone...

Reviews & Ratings for Nintendo Wii Console After being a Wii owner for 2 years, I must say that I have mixed feelings about the Wii. At first the use of the Wii Remote looked to be a welcome change in the console world. While it works well on occation, it often frustrates. While playing, it doesn't seem to be as accurate as it could be when pointing at the screen. I often get the message "please be sure that the remote is pointed at the screen", even though I am pointing it at it. It gets frustrating
The lack of solid 3rd party games is also disappointing. I find myself still playing Wii Sport, Zelda, Mario and Metroid (which are all superbly done). Resident Evil 4, however, was the exception. The game is perfect for using the Wii Remote. Aside from those games it just seems like there's a lot to be desired from the collection.
While it seems I have just talked about the bad I will go into some of the good. Not all is bad on the Wii. One of the great things about it is that almost anyone can play it? You want to play with your grandma? Give her a Wii-Remote and watch her become a gamer. Another great feature is the downloadable VC games. I haven't purchased any myself, but I know of a few people who have. They love it.
While it may seem like there is more cons than pros, the Wii isn't an all bad system. If you enjoy the classic games, and want to try the newer classics you won't be disappointed. If you have young children this is a great console for them also. While the games aren't the best, most of them will play well for children.
I hope this review proves to be helpful to someone.

Reviews & Ratings for Nintendo Wii Console I LOVE PLAYING THE WII. MY FRIENDS AND I ARE ALWAYS PLAYING IT AT EACH OTHER'S HOUSES AND THE GAMES THEY HAVE AVAILABLE ARE SO GREAT FOR THIS CONSOLE. DEFINITELY ANTICIPATING WHAT ELSE THEY'RE GOING TO COME UP WITH. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO ANYONE WHO DOESN'T WANT TO BE LAZY PLAYING VIDEO GAMES =)

Pros: wireless controllers, not expensive Cons: boring by yourself
Reviews & Ratings for Nintendo Wii Console The Nintendo Wii is a great family system. It interacts more with you and who you play against. You can make "Mii" characters that represent you. Wii Sports is very fun but there are only 5 games on it. Baseball, Golf, Bowling, Tennis, and Boxing. If you are by yourself i dont recommend this product because it will soon become very boring. But one with young kids will appreciate it more then Xbox 360 or PS3 because the games are more appropriate.

Pros: fun, engaging Cons: not really
Reviews & Ratings for Nintendo Wii Console I was skeptical when the system first came out, however, once we took the leap of faith and purchased the Nintendo Wii, I was very pleasantly surprised. My family and I are happy with the system and it's capabilities. The Wii is fun for everyone. Ours has been enjoyed by friends and family from the ages of 4 thru the late 40's. Many of the games actually provide more than just entertainment but also exercise, which is something that can not be said for most gaming systems. The Wii has my highest recommendation.

Pros: wii remote charger is available and a must, game play, family fun, 4 players Cons: batteries die quickly if using regular batteries
Reviews & Ratings for Nintendo Wii Console The Nintendo Wii is the first video game system to put you into the action, from swinging a bat in baseball to wielding a sword in Star Wars. It features great game play. Online play is great and extends otherwise completed games. Many accessories too. I would recommend a Wii remote battery charger since the Wii remotes eats through regular batteries very quickly.
