Progressive Scan DVD Recorder with Digital Tuner and VCR
The Panasonic DMR-EZ48VK DVD recorder is equipped with an SD Memory Card slot and USB terminal, which makes it easy to view photos from your digital camera. Just slip the SD card into the slot or use the cable to connect the camera to the USB terminal, and you're ready to enjoy a spectacular big-screen slideshow with family and friends. You can even listen to music recorded onto a USB device while viewing your photos. By interpolating video data using proprietary algorithms, SD format data is up-converted to 1080 x 1920p HD format video data. This conversion increases the richness of the original data by almost six fold, producing the highest possible image quality when viewing content on a large-screen HDTV. The high-performance hybrid digital tuner is capable of receiving both digital and analog broadcasts. And even when digital signals drop out because of interference with direct signal access, which makes the picture either disappear or become filled with block noise, the Digital Tuner still produces a beautiful picture.

Reviews & Ratings for Progressive Scan DVD Recorder with Digital Tuner and VCR This DVD recorder had all the features I wanted and was rated very high in Consumer Reports, so I was set on purchasing it. It took several months and two suppliers to finally receive the product, but it was worth the wait. The primary reason I wanted it was to transfer old home videos from VHS to DVD and it does that with ease. I had two instances where the unit locked up while copying, but I followed the reset procedures and was able to complete the recording of one DVD. I had to scrap the other and start over. I have recorded television programs, used the copy feature to record from VHS to DVD and copied one DVD to another using a separate DVD player connected to the plugs on the front of the unit. All was done with relative ease. I am still trying to figure out how to copy from VHS to DVD at a speed other than SP. I was also really like the digital tuner in the unit. I have an analog television and was pleasantly surprised to see the extra channels I was able to receive through the unit. All-in-all, I am very pleased with the unit.
