One takes a chance when they wish to install a updated video card on an older platform computer. Just tried to add this unit to older ASUS A7V333 MotherBoard that was a 4X AGP Slot, to allow my wife the ability to utilize the full capacity of VISTA. However this unit will fit in the 4X slot but will not function for this Motherboard. Some 8X's will work some won't, I guess I have new video card paperweight.
