I'm not an expert - finally my son told me to just drag the files and folders I wanted to back up onto the icon on the desktop. Would have been nice to have some directions in the manual.

The only thing that could have been better were the rubber feet on the bottom. I thought that they could have been thicker to allow better air circulation through the bottom of the housing. I liked the fact that it powers up when I turn on my Mac. All around it is a great drive.

Slows down work while transfering files. I have a Western Digital 160GB portable drive which has a much faster transfer rate and seems to have no effect on my computer's function. Super easy setup with the Mac: no formatting necessary. A good deal at $119.

Now thousands of jpgs and documents, hundreds of Keynote presentations, dozens of albums of music are all in one place. I use it as a hard drive leaving my ol' Mac's HD free of clutter, faster and easier to use on the road. The best part? I still have about 900 GB left. The only disappointment? The USB link makes for a slow operation.

Replacing a LaCie 1TB that died after 14 months. Now I have additional online backup so I don't ever had to spend days and days reloading burned DVDs of data. Not always super fast but the speed is fine for me.
