I like the ease of use and the neat, unique Mac programs that come with it. I have not had any problems with the Mac. The fan noise is non-existent. The palms of my hands don't heat up. My kid especially loves the Macbook over the PC. It's got a wow and fun factor over a PC. Plus it can do everything a PC can do.

I went from a large PC (Dell) laptop with a 17 inch screen that weighed close to 8 pounds to this little dream. I had been debating a netbook and a new 17 incher together, but instead decided to go with the MacBook White, and I've never been happier. This little darling has the following advantages:
1. Great battery power. With the antenna off, I can run close to five hours on a charge. 2. Lightweight. I can stick it in my bag and go, but the keyboard and screen are the perfect size for longer work times. 3. Fast. Windows was getting too slow for me. After working on this baby for a few days, I find trying to open files on my old PC a real pain. 4. Compatibility. Don't let the rumors freak you out. I run Firefox and Office on my mac. If you want to play a lot of games or something you might find compatibility an issue, but I haven't. The mac also works seamlessly with my back up hard drive, so I am able to access all of my old office files that were backed up before I retired my old laptop.
We're ecstatic--we got one for the wife, too--she starts med school in August, and this will fit right in her backpack for easy note taking and what not.

I looked forward to "crash-free", well-integrated computer operation. I have been tempted to put my new "MacCrashbook" on ebay for a couple of bucks, as I am having so very much trouble with the mouse/keyboard/trackpad freezing up. This is a problem heavily reported in several user forums, and I am now a member of that community of frustrated Mac users. I am trying a number of recommended adjustments, but if my Mac continues to disappoint and frustrate me and my work I will be visiting a "Genius" (hopefully more genius than the one who engineered the glytchy batch of Macbooks) at my local Apple store to get the help and satisfaction I expect after laying out so much money for a laptop computer.
