I have had to replace 4 power supplies. Two went out at once and LaCie replaced 1 power supply. I am going to purchase a Drobo and pull the drives out of my LaCie drives.
When they do work, however, they are fine, but I use them as backup drives and the failure rate is just unacceptable.
I have probably purchased 20+ LaCie drives over the past 5 years, but those are probably going to be the last.

The 2Big comes configured as a fast drive, so my first task was to change the RAID and reformat the disks. The instructions were very clear and the job was quickly done, with a separate partition for my iTunes library. Next, I installed the included Intego backup software, set up my script and performed a full backup. Again, this was very easy to accomplish. It took about 8 hours to complete, which isn't blazingly fast for 60GB, but my data was written to two separate HDs. The product itself is very solid, with a case modeled on a heat sink. There is a fan, which means it's not silent, but I don't find the fan noise to be loud or annoying. The drive supports multiple interfaces (FW 400, FW 800, USB2 etc) which is very convenient, and the blue LEDs in the back make it really easy to see which RAID mode is selected and whether the discs are active. A substantial, well designed and affordable product!
