It's a significant increase in acreage over my 19" Sony LCD, and I'm enjoying the extra real estate for less than half of what I paid for the Sony some years ago.
There are, however, two issues you should be aware of: one is that at its brightest this screen is somewhat punishing to look at, and difficult to read text off of; it's very bright and more than a little harsh. The problem is that when you turn down the brightness, it hums audibly - loudly. We use it in a recording studio, and the hum is a real problem. We put the brightness back to 100%, and the hum went away - and we deal with the harsh brightness.
The other issue is that it's not very readable from angles. If you're standing up looking down at it, you can't distinguish highlights, selected text, etc. You have to sit down and stare at it from the front.
But it's still pretty impressive for the money.

This is no longer the case. The arm is shipped attached to the monitor, and all the user has to do is finger-tighten a screw to attach the base to the arm.
I have had this monitor for a couple weeks now and am running it at maximum resolution through the analog VGA connector. The image is bright and clear. Others have commented on how bright it is and I can confirm the brightness. I have mine turned down to about 60% for comfortable viewing alongside an older lcd monitor which is dim by comparison.
I have become a big fan of this monitor. My only regret is not having ditched my old CRT monitor for this monitor earlier. Thanks Samsung!

The mounting was poorly engineered, and the documentation on attaching the screen to the mounting was grossly inadequate. The documentation consisted of pictures showing a knob about the size of a baby's fist being pushed into a slot in the bottom of the screen. When I tried, it wouldn't go, and I was afraid to push it for fear of breaking the screen. Finally I went on line and discovered I had to lubricate it with dish soap. When I did that, it went in fine.

My only major beef with this monitor is the stand - it almost felt like I was going to break the monitor in half because the stand design sucks. Other than that, this is DEFINITELY worth the money - far superior to Dell's 24" monitor in appearance. The only other drawback to this monitor is that there are no USB ports on it (but if you have a modern motherboard or desktop, chances are you've already got 10 or 12 anyway).
