The new MacBook, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air each have a Mini DisplayPort that allows you to connect an external display or projector using an adapter. You can use an external display as your main workspace or to extend your desktop, or you can work in mirrored mode with a projector so you can view what your audience sees. Use the Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter to connect an advanced digital monitor, such as the 20- or 23-inch Apple Cinema Display, that includes a DVI connector. Review the documentation or check with the manufacturer of your monitor to make sure you're choosing the right adapter.

Reviews & Ratings for Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter Does exactly what it's designed to do. I needed this adapter to be able to hook my MacMini up to a second DVI display. The adapter seems sturdy and does the job. If you want to connect a second DVI monitor to your 2009 Mac Mini, you need this adapter.

Pros: well designed, performs well Cons: can be hallenging to plug, can come loose
Reviews & Ratings for Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter If you want to plug your MacBook into an external monitor (w/DVI adapter) then this is an essential component. The adapter is well designed and sturdy but is challenging to plug in if you have surrounding ports connected. Also if you move your laptop around lot while using the the adapter it might come loose. It and the VGA adapter have worked great for me though.
