Reviews & Ratings for Samsung NC10-14GB Netbook Atom N270 1.6GHz/1GB/160GB/bg/BT/WC/10.2" WSVGA/XPH/Blue Purchased this netbook for my 12yr old son to help him keep his school work organized. He also has trouble with handwriting so this helps with taking notes in class. Great little laptop! Easy to use. Keyboard much easier to use than smaller netbooks. Fits neatly into his backpack. He loves it.

Reviews & Ratings for Samsung NC10-14GB Netbook Atom N270 1.6GHz/1GB/160GB/bg/BT/WC/10.2" WSVGA/XPH/Blue I own the NC10, the Asus 900 and 1000, the MSI Wind, Acer Aspire, HP 1001 and 2133. The HP 2133 has the only hi-res display but I soon discovered that I was finding it hard to read. Hi-res+small display=eye strain. So in the end the one I carry around is the NC10. It has the same 1kx600 screen but it is brighter than the others. This is quite useful when you have to spend part of your time outside. The differences between all of these machines are small so as long as you get enough storage (160GB is good) and memory (2GB+) then a good keyboard is a key differentiator (HP 2133 is the best of the lot) as is the display. Go by how well you can see/read, not the specs; specs can be misleading.
If this one isn't for you take a look at the Acer Aspire Timeline. It doesn't really have an 8-hour battery life but it did last over 6, it's quite thin, and the screen is quite readable.

Reviews & Ratings for Samsung NC10-14GB Netbook Atom N270 1.6GHz/1GB/160GB/bg/BT/WC/10.2" WSVGA/XPH/Blue This netbook is a great starter machine for my 13 year old. It has everything she needs. All she is interested in is the wireless networking for connecting to our home high speed internet, printing and music management on her ipod. She is able to sit on the couch and watch tv while surfing the net. The only issue so far has been with the wireless card not connecting to the wireless router when it isn't broadcasting. We've installed applications using a external dvd drive and downloaded applications. We like the scroll function on the track pad.

Reviews & Ratings for Samsung NC10-14GB Netbook Atom N270 1.6GHz/1GB/160GB/bg/BT/WC/10.2" WSVGA/XPH/Blue I am a mac person and didn't want another Windows, but this is a great computer. For a netbook, I wouldn't recommend a cheaper option because you may have problems with things such as the resolution of the camera (which is great in this model), the speed of the processor, the size of the screen (for such a small machine, every inch counts!), etc. Pay a little more and have a good netbook. A few things I don't like very much: the computer is so small and light that may "dance" on the table while you type. The upper part (with the "Samsung" logo on it" is made from a material that is very easy to scratch. Great things: I have 1GB of ram and don't feel (yet) that I need more (although I am not using heavy programs in it). It works very silently. Also, there is a series of controls on the keyboard that allow you to do things such as turn the monitor off, adjust the monitor brightness, put it to sleep mode, and a few other things with just a click.
I love this machine and recommend it. Very happy about it.

Pros: keyboard well laid-out Cons: replacement battery cost
Reviews & Ratings for Samsung NC10-14GB Netbook Atom N270 1.6GHz/1GB/160GB/bg/BT/WC/10.2" WSVGA/XPH/Blue Everything about this little netbook is outstanding. The keyboard is easy to use, the display is quite accurate, and the battery life is exceptional. Two things, though, that is a little annoying. One is the replacement cost of the battery. It's almost as much as the netbook itself!! Two was upgrading the RAM to 2 GB proved quite challenging in getting the access panel removed. Once removed, however, the process was simple. Using an external optical drive is also frustration free!! I researched all the brands before I purchased and I felt the Samsung was the way to go. I'm sure you'll be satisfied as well!!!
