This docking station replicates all of the connectors and ports from the side of the 13" MacBook. The dock allows for all of the peripheral devices normally connected to the side of the MacBook - Ethernet, Modem, FireWire, USB, Audio In, Audio Out to be plugged into the back of the dock, and remain plugged in, independent of the computer. Taking the computer from the office or the home, or moving it from one room to another, doesn't require disconnecting and reconnecting several devices.

Reviews & Ratings for BookEndz Docking Station for 13" MacBook, Black The idea of a docking station is a convenient, easy to use way of quickly disconnecting multiple connections from your laptop. Apple should have built a docking connector into the bottom of their Macbooks, but since they didn't Bookendz made an attempt at a solution. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to push this big port duplicator onto the side of your Macbook. It feels like you're going to cause permanent damage to the laptop and the device. It doesn't line up sitting flat on the desk so you end up balancing your Macbook and the Bookendz while trying to correctly push them together. At the same time, you're pulling cables up and tweaking both in an attempt to properly align them. It is a huge waste of money and time. I love my Macbook, but hate that Apple left of this important item.
