You have to read the 200+ page users manual to really see all the things that are incorporated into this camera. The interface and controls are fairly easy to understand and use. The electronic view finder is great for using in bright sun, were the LCD flip-out display would be washed out. You really need both. The long zoom seems to work well, and the image stabilizer seems to help too. The Face focus technology is really slick. For a mid-range digital camera with a lot of features and good image quality, I think this is a fine product.

I macro, looooong optical zoom (this one goes the equipvalent of 600mm+), high-quality photos and manual mode. This camera does it all. From getting close-up shots of flower blossoms, long shots of birds and other wildlife, and portraits to a manual mode that lets me control depth of field and other critical functions -- and more!

When I saw this Cannon Powershot SX 10, read the reviews from many users and got feedback from a student that had the SX 100 (older model) and saw PC Connection's price I jumped on it. I have no regrets whatsoever. The ONLY thing I would change is the location of some buttons that are placed where you can accidentally push them. The upshot of that is they aren't buttons that really change anything to mess up your shot. Get this camera, you won't be sorry. Just don't buy the case for the camera, the manufacturer didn't think to make it big enough so you can leave the sun shield on the camera when placing it in the case.

Reviews & Ratings for PowerShot SX10 IS 10MP Digital Camera My wife purchased the Powershot SX10 as a Father's Day gift after reading the review in Consumer Reports which was very favorable. However, it didn't meet my expectations or needs. I'm a bird watcher and I wanted the camera to document bird sightings. The problem is that when the zoom is on high power, it takes too long for the focus to adjust on a bird and by the time it is in focus, the bird is gone. It was also difficult to find birds in the side viewfinder. I had better luck looking through the lens viewer on the camera body. Otherwise, the camera seemed fine. The balance felt good and the pictures were ok.

I am just an average joe who likes to take pictures of family and nature. The camera did well with both. It was a little heavier than I expected, but otherwise i had no complaints

The pictures are very nice and the camera is very easy to use. I love the digital video option and the downloading is very simple. The camera is very durable and withstood a trip to Alaska with ease! The camera performs well with normal alkaline batteries but I've since upgraded to the batteries specifically for digital cameras and the battery life has gotten much better and the flash recharges about twice as fast.
