If you're using it for extra storage, reformat it when you get it instead of loading the backup software. Runs nicely on my vista 64bit and my XP 32bit systems. No issues.

We have bought about 40 of them with only one failure. Used with Windows Server 2003 and Veritas. I recently bought one for my home: easy to install and it just works (what else can you ask for?)
