i bought these speakers for my wife's computer because we could not hear anything when watching movies. (we watch on her computer.) these speakers solve that problem just fine but the sound is not great. the bass is poorly defined and is very hummy and boomy. i generally have the bass rolled off quite a bit if not completely. but that said, since my objective was just to watch movies i am happy with this purchase. however, if you care about audio fidelity at all, i would not get these speakers to listen to music.

I have this connected to my laptop and use them for my primary music system in a home office. The sound quality is excellent, great bass ... very good tonal quality throughout the spectrum even at loud volume.
