BUT BE AWARE THAT THE DEVICE MAY NOT PERFORM AS EXPECTED COMING OUT OF THE BOX.
Upon initial installation everything seemed to go smoothly. However, when viewing the drive properties from windows explorer the total drive size was only 5GB for a 1TB drive. Additionally, the supplied admin utility would not show space used and avail space numbers.
After searching the vendor's knowledge base I was able to locate a trouble report with similar issues. The recommended cure was downloading and installing a fresh copy of the device firmware. After completing that, all is well and I'm very pleased.
I would suggest re-loading the firmware coming right out of the box and before starting to use the device.

Reviews & Ratings for 1TB LinkStation Live LS-CHL Shared Multimedia Storage I wanted a 1tb storage media that i could easily access from either of my computers simutaniously. i did some searching and found this. i new it had everything i wanted. so i bought it at the online store with the lowest price and got their waranty as well. it was a little tricky to set up but after that was done. it was great. however on video playback the files take a wihile to open. at least with media player classic.
