Reviews & Ratings for PowerShot SX110 IS Digital Camera - Silver Excellent camera in many aspects. I'm not a big photographer but I wanted something that I could piddle around with that was not too expensive and had great picture quality. I was not disappointed, it has turned out to be a well worth-it purchase. My only drawback is its relatively low battery life.

Cropped image. Smile!
Reviews & Ratings for PowerShot SX110 IS Digital Camera - Silver My old Canon Powershot camera served me well until it just died after several years of wonderful service. So I read all the reviews I could find and this camera looked like it would work. It would fit in my pants pocket (not my shirt pocket). It would do optical zoom to 10 X! We take lots of pictures in our church and we try not to run down front in the middle of the service to get a close up of a baptism for example! It does a very good job yet the photographer must be careful or even with the image stabilization we can get some blurry photos. The images are lovely and generally large enough so I can crop them a lot and still get a good photo. The light sensor still suffers from being relatively small so low-light pictures get grainy. This is not an SLR. People also worry about the battery use. Be good to mother nature and buy some rechargables and it costs only pennies per charging. Be sure to keep extras with you. It uses only 2 AA batteries and has a big display so it goes through them faster. At PC Connection the camera was only slightly over $200. Very competitive price and, unlike so many discount camera sites, at PC Connection you can RELY on the quality of the item and service. The real camera, made for the USA, no phone calls to try to pressure me into buying something else, delivered to my doorstep as promised online. If you have more money to spend you can get an SLR with a much bigger light sensor and solve some of my concerns in low light, but will I slip that into my pocket to go to every little event? Or hand it off to anyone in church? One drawback or caution, the slightly rounded case makes it want to slide off the mounds on my desk or other uneven surfaces. Use the strap when your are taking shots in case it gets loose. Be careful! Have fun. This is a lot of camera for the money. I can't imagine a better one for the price right now.
