After I installed one for my boss, I was so pleased with the quiet performance, I immediately bought another for my own personal laptop. If you're comfortable opening up your laptop (search the internet for take-apart and repair how-to videos), or if you have a friend who can do it for you, then this is the right hard drive.

This HD doubled my basic storage and added a secondary backup location (NOT a RAID). No issues with heat, noise, or decreased battery life that are voiced in some forums. This HD was designed for an application and does its job quite well. Only actual issue was that the laptop manufacturer refused to sell HD mounting hardware, but found it elsewhere (hence 4-stars on ease-of-use).

The drive performs so well, I believe it actually installed Visual Studio faster than my desktop PC with Athlon Dual Core chip and SATA drives. Installation was a breeze as well.
