Reviews & Ratings for 1TB eGo USB 2.0 Desktop Hard Drive - Ruby Red
I like this little drive. It's a bit larger than I expected in size. But it still fits nicely within my small home office. This is my 3rd TB drive and my first from Iomega. So far It's my favorite too.

I wish it came pre-formatted for Mac storage. I had to use the Apple formatting utility to configure it for my OS, but the notes on this were clear and easy to understand (but, out of date for my particular OS).

Moving data on and off the drive is easy. USB 2.0 is tons faster than older USB connections, so I am generally pleased with the speed at which files transfer over to the drive. If I want much quicker file transfers I will use my Firewire 800 connection on another Hard Drive that I own. This is a great portable solution for me, and all my large files.

A minor complaint for me is all of the little whirs and noises this device makes. I think it has to do with it's smaller size. I have another drive from a competitor that is much quieter, but the competitors drive is 5x larger in size though. So it's a good trade off.

I love taking this thing in my laptop bag to work. It's really handy and highly portable. The red color I picked is pretty awesome too.
