Reviews & Ratings for N810 Portable Internet Tablet 400MHz/256MB Flash/128MB RAM/bg/BT/GPS/4.13"WVGA/Linux This device clearly has top shelf engineered hardware. Everything is well fit and finished and it is a pleasure to hold and use.
The software is Linux based and a little rough around the edges. There are some very clever functions, but a couple of rough edges. For example the Bluetooth works incredibly well, but it doesn't have A2DP stereo, and it is a 4 step process to tell it which headset to connect to. But when you do...it works!
I have not explored add-on software extensively. Nokia's official site hosts some unofficial software which I've had mixed results with. For example the Gizmo5 client is great and it is nice to avoid using Skype. But the Battle for Wesnoth game is clearly very desktop computer oriented and is slow and clunky.
The GPS is extremely weak. It takes a very long time to aquire a signal and doesn't retain that when it is powered off and chews through power if it stays on.

Reviews & Ratings for N810 Portable Internet Tablet 400MHz/256MB Flash/128MB RAM/bg/BT/GPS/4.13"WVGA/Linux I have used my new toy for about three weeks. It is entirely new to me but I really enjoy it. For newbies, it would be helpful if the N810 came with directions so that I could understand all its capabilities. I have figured out how to do most of the obvious things but the GPS seems to have a hard time connecting anywhere. Maps for the eastern US are not preloaded - why? Music and video work well but I feel like I have only scratch the surface of the N810 capabilities - I wish there were more resources for figuring it all out.
Battery life is about 3 hours with me trying everything. I like it a lot - just need to keep using it! I got it to use while I am on bike trips. I wanted to be able to check email, look for hotels, map routes, and Skype out - I think it will work well for my purposes.

Reviews & Ratings for N810 Portable Internet Tablet 400MHz/256MB Flash/128MB RAM/bg/BT/GPS/4.13"WVGA/Linux I love my N810! The browser is very nice, the screen is bright, the battery is very good and the wifi connectivity is quite respectable.
GPS Negatives - First, it takes a while to locate the position (sometimes it's 20 seconds sometimes it's 5 minutes). Second, the map software provided doesn't provide navigation (that's "premium" a feature available for $120 for 3 years - but includes map updates).
GPS Positives - it works well and there are open source navigation packages available.
Application availability is quite good. But there doesn't seem to be a Yahoo Messenger equivalent product that allows web cam (even though there is a web cam built in) even though pidgin does pretty much everything else you would expect.
