The Kanguru 22x DVD+/-RW Drive provides high speed DVD and CD burning for PC, Notebook and Mac users. Dual Layer technology allows you to burn nearly twice as much data (up to 8.5GB) to a single disc, allowing you to create high quality DVDs. The LightScribe label burning allows you to burn custom labels onto your LightScribe compatible CD or DVD media. Simply plug the drive into an available USB or FireWire 400 port for instant access to a 22x DVD+/-RW drive. As an added benefit, the Kanguru QS2 DVDRW Drive is bundled with DVD burning and playback software for the PC.

Reviews & Ratings for 22x Lightscribe External DVD+/-RW USB 2.0/Firewire Drive The Kanguru DVD drive is plenty fast and reliable. It is a little noisy. Typical simple Mac connectivity and setup (none required). Good interface and communication with Toast, iTunes and other aps that need to coordinate with the drive.

Reviews & Ratings for 22x Lightscribe External DVD+/-RW USB 2.0/Firewire Drive Bought this to replace a functionally similar (except lightscribe feature) LaCie product (model # 300983?) that died after 4 years of flawless service. The Kanguru burner has a loud fan which makes it undesireable for watching dvd movies (in contrast to LaCie model which had no fan). The kanguru did not come with any burning software compatable with Mac OS X 10.2 (unlike LaCie which came with toast lite). Of the ~20 discs (CDs & DVDs) burned so far, toast/drive have gotten stuck during verification of 4 discs, requiring force-quit and turning off drive (unlike LaCie predecessor which never froze/jammed until its death).
