Reviews & Ratings for 22" VLED221WM Widescreen Monitor, Glossy Black I've been using two of these monitors, one at home and one at work, for about 6 months now, and I keep discovering more reasons to love them!
Once I learned how to adjust the color balance and brightness controls for the VLED221, the picture quality was clearer than any monitor I've used, and the colors it shows with my digital photos make me not want to turn it off. I do recommend having a video card with digital output and a decent gamma adjustment to get the best this monitor can offer, though my basic analog on-board video on my home PC does fine.
Prior to finding the VLED221wm I'd been using high-end Dell LCD flatscreens and suffering from sore eyes, headaches and blurred vision. Ever since I realized what about them was causing my discomfort, I had been looking for an LED backlit monitor that uses less power (and emits less emf radiation) than the typical LCD/Mercury-lamp display. I'm an engineer & researcher in Physics and Biology and know what I'm talking about. These power-efficient, low-voltage backlit displays are the way Apple and Dell are heading already with laptops, but this one is leading the way for an affordable desktop.
The Cons: Was too bright & hazy with factory presets - I needed to play with the brightness and color adjust (gamma) controls at first to make it amazing. The recommended driver update from Viewsonic took an email to them for instructions, and couple of tries to install, but worked fine after that. The first display I received developed a bad pixel and I had to exchange it - was easy and worth it.
I thank ViewSonic for saving my eyes and some electricity as well, without emptying my bank account! No - I don't work for them, own their stock or sell their products, but now I want to.

I have a dual monitor set up and I received one monitor about a week before the second one (UPS delivery issue) and for a short time I had the new VLED221wm and one of my old Dell monitors. I could not believe the difference!!!
