Arrived on time and undamaged, installation took only a couple minutes, and everything worked as expected. Can't comment on long-term reliability, but so far so good.

It comes up as a” 500GB Caviar Green GP SATA II 3.5" Internal Hard Drive” in a general search and a SATA 3 under the assisted search for hard drives and its stats match a SATA 3 at a transfer rate of 3GBS and SATA 3 interface. Even Western digital dose not call this a SATA II. however, it seems backwards compatible. Good value for the money. It meets storage need for my new PC as a second drive both now and in future. Remember, most bare bones drive do NOT have cables. Pay attention to contents in the description. Most new PCs do not have spare SATA cables, so if this a added drive, buy the cable set too, power and data; to be sure.
