Coolpix S560 Digital Camera - Cool Blue
For everyday photography the S560 excels and the 5x optical zoom keeps subjects from being too far away to shoot. For shaky hands and low-light situations a VR image-stabilized Nikkor lens and an ISO max of 3200 ensures that no photo is missed because it is too dark. Any shadowy photos can be recovered by the utilization of Nikon's D-Lighting built in to the camera and all of the best shots can reviewed on the bright and contrasty 2.7" LCD display. If happy faces have been difficult to capture, the smile activated shutter won't trigger until a healthy grin is shown. This feature is backed up by a face-priority autofocus that scans an scene before photographing, selects the human subjects and no matter where they are within the frame, the camera will make sure their face is in focus. A blink detector checks for closed eyes, allowing you to reshoot in case someone had their eyes closed in the photo. Reviews & Ratings for Coolpix S560 Digital Camera - Cool Blue I'm still getting used to my Nikon S560. I had an older Canon Powershot and I loved it, but I wanted something with optical image stabilization that could take a decent picture indoors without flash (restaurants, etc). A tall order, I know. Overall, I'd say that about half of my indoor non-flash pictures (on auto ISO) with the Nikon come out very crisp, and half come out terribly blurry. This is an improvement over my Canon, where all my indoor non-flash pictures were somewhat blurry. I've been tinkering with the ISO settings, though if I set it sensitive enough to guarantee a crisp picture, the noise is usually pretty obvious. Pictures with flash look great with the Nikon, and there are lots of scene modes which I haven't thoroughly explored. The LCD looks awesome. The camera seems to be very "smart" (face recognition, smile shutter, auto ISO works relatively well, all the scene modes) but is also very simple with no shutter speed controls or other sophisticated controls. The panorama assist feature is brilliantly done. I look forward to playing with the time-lapse movie mode, though the shortest interval is 30 seconds; I wish there was a 1-second interval option. It's not a small camera -- no smaller than my old Powershot -- but it's extremely lightweight.
