The IOGEAR Wireless USB Adapter allows any computer with a USB port to become a Wireless USB enabled computer and communicate with other Certified Wireless USB enabled devices. By eliminating unnecessary cables, Wireless USB reduces cable clutter and lets notebook users roam up to 30 feet away from a Wireless USB Hub. Share a printer, storage device, camera with other computers by using your Wireless USB adapter to connect to a Wireless USB Hub (works best with the IOGEAR GUWH104 Wireless USB Hub). The GUWH100U Wireless USB Host adapter, when used with Wireless USB Hubs (such as IOGEAR GUWH104 Wireless USB Hub) can wirelessly connect your computer to peripherals like printers, scanners, external hard drives and flash drives, digital cameras, camcorders, personal media players, PDAs, smart phones, and cell phones. USB based speakers and USB based web cameras are currently not supported.

Pros: none for me Cons: line of sight required, more software running to make this work, connectivity drops out, big thumb drive crashes it
Reviews & Ratings for Ultra-Wideband USB Adapter The sales product literature never indicated it needed line of sight to work. If it did, I certainly didn't understand it. I put the USB key into my PC, and the receiving hub by my printer. I put the printer USB cable into the hub, and did get some prints done. It required the key and hub to be in line of sight. I stuck a thumb drive (2gb) in the hub, and locked up my entire system. It would read a small thumb (250mb). Every reboot it seemed to lose the hub connection, and I had to screw around to resync. It is in a cabinet now, I have no need of it, but figured return wasn't an option. Much easier to just buy an ethernet ready printer. I don't have time for crashes and reboots, so I'll stick with direct insertion of the thumb drives in the tower.
