Pros: great idea Cons: doesn't work
Reviews & Ratings for 22" 2263DX Widescreen LCD Monitor with 7" Companion Monitor, Black The idea of having a small 7" additional workspace is a great idea for a KVM user like myself. When switched to the laptop one could still see what is going on with the desktop machine. Including what is currently playing on Media Center. But... But... But... the product simply doesn't work as specified in the ads or in the owners manual. Contact with Samsung tech support has produced some very hospitalble treatment but no solutions to the problem (over two weeks now) I suspect the product is too new for Samsung tech support for most support agents had no idea what the product was or what it promised to do. I am not too worried for I have another monitor to use while Samsung struggles with the problems, AND it has a three year waranty. But I feel pretty sure it will be several more weeks (or months) before the problem is solved. This installation is on a typical and well maintained Windows XP environment so suffers none of those awful Vista problems. It seems to me the problems are USB connection/software oriented because the monitors (both the little companion 7" and the 22") seem to be well made products, nice resolution and are moderatly attractive. The "buttonless" buttons, however work only intermitenttly. The product is a great idea and if you have a need it will most likely be worth waiting for. Samsung will certainly figure out the USB connection/Software problems sometime soon.
