Reviews & Ratings for Acer Aspire One 150-1447 Atom N270 1.6GHz/1GB/160GB/bg/NIC/WC/8.9" WSVGA/Sapphire Blue/6-Cell/XPH This is a great little computer. It is so small I throw it in my purse and take it anywhere. I have a wireless card so I can surf where ever I go. The 6 cell battery is great. It last a long time. It has a bright screen. I recommended it to my friends and 2 of them bought one. They love it, too. The only con is no DVD drive. This is no big deal. I download movies off of the internet to watch when I fly on trips. I am currently looking for a slim external drive and that will sold this con.I would rather have this small computer than have an internal drive. This is a great little computer for taking everywhere. The prie is great right now it has gone down quite a bit since I bought it.

Pros: compact. perfect for the road. Cons: no optical drive.
Reviews & Ratings for Acer Aspire One 150-1447 Atom N270 1.6GHz/1GB/160GB/bg/NIC/WC/8.9" WSVGA/Sapphire Blue/6-Cell/XPH I've been using this unit for two months now - on the road. It's size is a big plus if you want to minimize your luggage and it has enough power to work on the road. It's basic, but basic works well for travel. It won't make it as your primary unit, but it serves its purpose well. The upside - it's compact, functions well on-line, and is powerful enough to do most things you might need to do on a short road trip. The downside? No optical drive, which can be a bother if you don't plan ahead. And if you have large hands, this is definitely not for you. The keyboard is fine, but it's compact and takes some getting used to. Overall, though, if you keep its purpose in mind, you'll find this a great travel companion, and a reliable one.

Reviews & Ratings for Acer Aspire One 150-1447 Atom N270 1.6GHz/1GB/160GB/bg/NIC/WC/8.9" WSVGA/Sapphire Blue/6-Cell/XPH If you buy this netbook, your other computers will get jealous. The wife and I have 3 desktops situated around the house and 2 laptops. 80% of the time I'm sitting on the couch, on the Laz-e-boy, on the deck, on the porch (you get the idea) with the Acer. I do not remember the last time I used my 15.4" laptop - actually, I do - the day before the Acer arrived.
The screen is awesome, the battery life (6 cell) is incredible, and the screen is very clear. I am a mid-level manager, own my own business, and am finishing up my doctorate on-line, so I compute a LOT. The Acer is my 2008 tech purchase of the year.

Reviews & Ratings for Acer Aspire One 150-1447 Atom N270 1.6GHz/1GB/160GB/bg/NIC/WC/8.9" WSVGA/Sapphire Blue/6-Cell/XPH Love the laptop and the speedy delivery. A+ service and reliability. The webcam is also fun! Comes with XP! Very sturdy case. Easy to use--everything is there! I was so impressed that I bought another one for my son! He works on computers all day as an architect - he was impressed! He was surprised how quickly it connected to the wifi. I did add a wireless mouse to it because I'm faster with a mouse than a keypad but that is just personal preference.

Best IT Value Purchase of 2008
Date: January 4, 2009

Pros: lightweight, great value (cost vs. benefits), good performance, dual card readers, good battery life Cons: challenging upgrade capability, learning curve for smaller keyboard
Reviews & Ratings for Acer Aspire One 150-1447 Atom N270 1.6GHz/1GB/160GB/bg/NIC/WC/8.9" WSVGA/Sapphire Blue/6-Cell/XPH This purchase for me is turning out to be the best IT velue purchase I made in 2008.
This device is well suited for what it is designed for - that of Light to Medium computing in a portable mode. The Aspire One is perfect for e-mail and web based work and its small size makes it very portable. The Dual Card Readers allow for added storage as well as versatility in supporting many device that use flash cards as storage. The Small keyboard does take some getting used to but is not a major hurdle in using the device. Some have criticized the track pad button placement but again this just takes some time to get used to.

Pros: almost everything Cons: mouse pad
Reviews & Ratings for Acer Aspire One 150-1447 Atom N270 1.6GHz/1GB/160GB/bg/NIC/WC/8.9" WSVGA/Sapphire Blue/6-Cell/XPH Everything about the Acer Aspire one is nice. A good display, battery life, almost full size keyboard, aesthetic looks, etc. The only complaint is the horrible mouse pad. Overall size is ok and will get the job done, but the left and right mose buttons will take some time getting used to. I don't know if its my fat fingers or what, but since they are on the side it is very hard to click and drag documents/menu icons. Other than that a great portible notebook.

Pros: size weight battery life xp Cons: haven't found any
Reviews & Ratings for Acer Aspire One 150-1447 Atom N270 1.6GHz/1GB/160GB/bg/NIC/WC/8.9" WSVGA/Sapphire Blue/6-Cell/XPH This little laptop is everything I expected. I can type just fine on the smaller keyboard. It just takes a little adjustment to keep your fingers closer together. You can't have large and small at the same time. At first I thought I'd have to get an external CD/DVD drive but I haven't needed it yet. I either download programs or put them on a flash drive from another computer and install them on the Aspire One. I got the one with the 6 cell battery pack and it lasts over 5 hours no matter what I'm doing on the computer. Some people complain about using the touchpad. I've had many laptops and they all work about the same. I'm not having any trouble with the touchpad. I normally don't use a touchpad anyway. I have a wireless mouse that is much easier to use. The screen is large enough to watch movies on airplanes etc. To compensate for the screen size when on the internet, I set my browser to full screen so that there are no tool bars across the top. This makes the screen equal to one a couple of inches larger. I like the light that changes color to indicate when the battery is fully charged.

Reviews & Ratings for Acer Aspire One 150-1447 Atom N270 1.6GHz/1GB/160GB/bg/NIC/WC/8.9" WSVGA/Sapphire Blue/6-Cell/XPH This little pocket computer carries more punch than all the desktops in the house put together.
Screen and keyboard is large enough but still compact. the little Aspire One has all the feature that I need, fast and excellent screen.
The 6 hour battery life is unbelievable. Things like that make it truly portable. And at What a Price!
It's a great buy for anyone wanting a truly portable very small notebook.

Pros: everything except the con Cons: no disc drive makes adding some software difficult
Reviews & Ratings for Acer Aspire One 150-1447 Atom N270 1.6GHz/1GB/160GB/bg/NIC/WC/8.9" WSVGA/Sapphire Blue/6-Cell/XPH I've had this little guy for 3 weeks now and can say it's everything I hoped it would be: smaller than a laptop (I ride a bike and wanted a "laptop" I wouldn't mind lugging around... ) but bigger and better than a blackberry for working my e-mails and acessing the internet. Make sure you get the 6 cell battery. It really does last 6 hours as claimed... and for me that makes all the difference. (I can use the battery commutting to and from work without having to bring the AC adaptor.) I was a little worried about two things: the mouse pad,and the small size of the key pad... but my fingers have adapted to the smaller key board just fine and the mouse works better than I initially thought.

Best Netbook in It's Class Hands Down

Pros: lightweight (2.3 lb), long battery life (6 cell), acer quality, huge hard drive 160gb, looks slick!!! Cons: none this is a winner
Reviews & Ratings for Acer Aspire One 150-1447 Atom N270 1.6GHz/1GB/160GB/bg/NIC/WC/8.9" WSVGA/Sapphire Blue/6-Cell/XPH In an age of ultra cheap notebooks, the majority of users who simply surf and do minor word processing tasks, the netbook has come to the rescue. The Acer Aspire One netbook is the perfect balance of power, simplicity, long battery life(6 cell) and durability.
At 2.3 lbs, you couldn't ask for a more streamline netbook and the finesse in which Acer delivers the Aspire One, you'll be sure to catch glances at your local wifi coffee shop. It looks slick, performs strongly and delivers on the promise of the quintessential minimalistic notebook.
Don't expect a dvd-rom drive here, the intention of netbooks to deliver a net friendly, streamline, mobile device. Of course, this no-nonsense approach is the very reason why netbooks make so much sense. Do you use your 5-7 lb notebook to casually surf or your 2.3 lb Acer netbook? The answer is pretty simple.
As far as pricing and shipping is concerned, PC Connection is your absolute best bet for this device. I received my netbook quickly with packaging fully intact.
The only netbook to come close to this quality and prowess would be Lenovo's offerings. The problem is, Lenovo still doesn't offer a 6 cell battery, so it remains a moot point.
Acer all the way, 10/10 rating.

Pros: great battery life, light weight, great screen resoution, great hard drive space, lots of ports; usb memory audio video Cons: 1 minor con; could use another 512mb to 1gb of ram
Reviews & Ratings for Acer Aspire One 150-1447 Atom N270 1.6GHz/1GB/160GB/bg/NIC/WC/8.9" WSVGA/Sapphire Blue/6-Cell/XPH I purchased the Acer Aspire One for one reason, portability; and it's delivered on that need.
I work with computers all day and have needs for many different machines but I needed a computer that I can carry with me without having to disconnect or undock every time I went to a meeting. And when I travel, I wanted something that was light, easy to transport, could be used on a plane, and have great battery life. The Acer Aspire One delivers on all that.
For the type of processor, the machine runs great... it's not a desktop replacement but that's not why I bought it. The screen is outstanding, very bright and clear. And when you close the lid, it suspends. Open the lid, it un-suspends... each and every time. Rock solid with the driver support and I have yet to find a problem with any software or driver that I've loaded. And I've got it packed with software; multiple VPN clients, office tools, synchronization software, email clients, system utilities, etc.
The keyboard is smaller but with a little practice, it works great... like playing a fine violin instead of hammering on an electric guitar! The battery will easily get me through an 8 hour day with on and off use. Using it consistently yields about 4 to 5 solid hours of use.
It comes with 1GB of RAM but could use another 512MB or 1GB. It's workable though and runs just fine with Windows XP Home edition.
I'd recommend this machine to anyone who is looking for a small, portable, long-life battery machine.

Pros: size, wieght, feature rich, screen brightness Cons: cover gets dirty easy, no cd drive, mouse pad has odd scrolling feature
Reviews & Ratings for Acer Aspire One 150-1447 Atom N270 1.6GHz/1GB/160GB/bg/NIC/WC/8.9" WSVGA/Sapphire Blue/6-Cell/XPH I was surprised with its small size and weight. The finish gets dirty easy (because of the gloss finish). Performance is very good for not being a duo core but it stays cool and packs easily. Very easy to use on a plane. Wireless works well if your are relatively near the transiver(but the limited battery power on this unit is why) for long distances it drops off. Some reviewers said the fan was loud but I didnt find this to be true, yes it can be heard but its not loud.

Pros: battery life Cons: keyboard, screen
Reviews & Ratings for Acer Aspire One 150-1447 Atom N270 1.6GHz/1GB/160GB/bg/NIC/WC/8.9" WSVGA/Sapphire Blue/6-Cell/XPH Maybe I shouldn't be reviewing this, as the whole "netbook" or "Mini laptop" segment seems flawed to me. The biggest problem is the screen size. I'm used to a nice big screen, and having only 600 lines of vertical resolution just doesn't cut it for many tasks, web surfing included unless you disable most of the toolbars and so forth.
The keyboard on this, as in all netbooks, is extremely small. It's much better suited to a child's size fingers. And the keyboard is very flimsy, too.
On the plus side, the overall performance for most tasks is acceptable, and the battery life seems quite good.
