My wife's computer is upstairs tucked away in a back room and the wireless-n router is downstairs, so the signal has always been marginal. Her internal card stopped working so I decided to try this external USB. Very easy to install and comes with a 3ft cable that allows you to move it around on the desk to find the best spot. The signal is much better than when she had the internal card with a 5db external antenna on the desk. Very happy. Also, you can use the proprietary wireless utility with this one, but you can also go entirely Windows Zero-config, which many cards won't allow.
