Reviews & Ratings for 1TB USB 2.0 External Hard drive (Designed by Neil Poulton) (See item 8515324 for triple interface) I work from four computers and this little black box has been a godsend for backing them all up and not losing anything. I agree that it has a short leash, and has to sit close to your USB plug-in, but otherwise, I love its compactness and memory capacity.

Reviews & Ratings for 1TB USB 2.0 External Hard drive (Designed by Neil Poulton) (See item 8515324 for triple interface) What can I say? I bought this when my other EHD crashed. Transfer rate is a bit slow, but I had some pretty heavy files to move. Setup was easy and the thing worked. Don't know what more one could expect. As far as the design goes, the thing looks like a black brick, so if anyone out there needs me to design something, say a coffee table in the style of Neil Poulton (who?), I've got just the idea! I will say this, though, the price was certainly right, and PC Connection delivered fast!

Reviews & Ratings for 1TB USB 2.0 External Hard drive (Designed by Neil Poulton) (See item 8515324 for triple interface) I bought this drive around christmas and it has been running like a champ ever since. I currently store about 300 gigs of stuff and counting. I run my weekly backups on my home machine there every week. The black case is sleek and looks nice. The blue LED light also matches my current computer set up which is nice.

Reviews & Ratings for 1TB USB 2.0 External Hard drive (Designed by Neil Poulton) (See item 8515324 for triple interface) So far, performance as expected. Had heard from others, that it could be noisy, but it is completely silent. Don't even know it's there. Figuring out the how-to part was a little over my head, but I figured it out. Just takes some patience and reading.

Reviews & Ratings for 1TB USB 2.0 External Hard drive (Designed by Neil Poulton) (See item 8515324 for triple interface) This product offers the best of both worlds. You get the capacity of 1Tb HDD with a sleek design. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because with everything that is out today it should have come with at least a firewire and/or e-sata port.

Reviews & Ratings for 1TB USB 2.0 External Hard drive (Designed by Neil Poulton) (See item 8515324 for triple interface) Initially attracted by the great price and slick design, but ultimately disappointed when the drive started ticking, beeping, and refusing to mount less than three weeks into its (far too short) life. Unit is going back tomorrow for refund.

Reviews & Ratings for 1TB USB 2.0 External Hard drive (Designed by Neil Poulton) (See item 8515324 for triple interface) As with my other (older) Lacie EHD, I didn't buy this for flashy design, I just wanted an inexpensive hard drive backed by a well-reputed manufacturer, and that's what I got.
As prior reviewers have noted, this drive (like the other) is disconcertingly noisy in action, but it seems to work fine regardless. I had no trouble reformatting it for my Linux systems (*), and I've seen no problems in the two weeks I've had it "live".
(*), well, a multi-pass read/write test on a 200-gig partition takes half of forever, but that's not Lacie's fault. ;-)

Reviews & Ratings for 1TB USB 2.0 External Hard drive (Designed by Neil Poulton) (See item 8515324 for triple interface) Concerned about the life expectancy of my hard drive, I ordered this product. It looks good, and came with easy instructions. I was able to back up a significant number of documents and most importantly to me, a huge number of family photos and history records. It took the better part of the day to complete the backup, but the computer did all the work. Have only had it a couple of weeks, but am very pleased so far.

Reviews & Ratings for 1TB USB 2.0 External Hard drive (Designed by Neil Poulton) (See item 8515324 for triple interface) What is there to explain?
Softwear is in the drive which automatically installs itself once connected to your PC.
I didnt know how to partition the drive but I hear that Vista can do that for you (I had a co-worker do it for me).
Sleek design and compact as a regular external hard drive (just becasue it was a TB, I thought that it would be larger)
Blue light tells you its ALIVE!!!
It makes sounds -BECAUSE ITS WORKING!!!
LOTS OF SPACE!!!
Downfall is that it has a very short USB cable but I'm sure if you are computer savy, you can find a longer, cheaper one on e-bay!

Pros: cool design, large capacity, good performance Cons: short usb cable, disk activity light can be hard to see
Reviews & Ratings for 1TB USB 2.0 External Hard drive (Designed by Neil Poulton) (See item 8515324 for triple interface) This drive has a very sleek, simple design and is easy to use. I considered the version that includes an eSATA interface, but opted for this one because it was in stock and less expensive.
The disk activity light is not directly visible, but instead shines a blue light down on the desk (or whatever surface it's resting on). This looks cool, but can make it difficult to see in some circumstances. My only other complaint is that the included USB cable is only 24 inches long. I'm not sure if using a longer cable would cause problems, but the short cord is definitely inconvenient, since this requires the external drive to be positioned very close to the computer's USB port.
Other than these two minor drawbacks, it is an excellent choice for external storage.

Pros: fast setup, great high capacity, good looking, love the blue glowing lights Cons: a little noisy while writing, only 1 interface usb2.0
Reviews & Ratings for 1TB USB 2.0 External Hard drive (Designed by Neil Poulton) (See item 8515324 for triple interface) I have 8 external LaCie drives in various dimensions down to 250g. My new 1TB and the two 750's I just bought are by far the friendliest to set up (Windows XP pro). The software comes on the drive.
Although the "autorun" didn't auto run, I set it going manually and the rest was fabulously automatic. It formatted the drive (I took the default, one giant partition), installed the software on it, and offered a collection of add-on software and the backup service, none of which I used. The whole process took only a couple of minutes, even on the terabyte drive.
A little blue glow underneath the front edge brightens when it's writing. Useless, but I like it.
The drive doesn't make much noise, except when it writes. Then it clicks and clacks. Not too bad, but louder than any of my other drives. It's speedy, capacious, and cheap. What else could I ask for?

Reviews & Ratings for 1TB USB 2.0 External Hard drive (Designed by Neil Poulton) (See item 8515324 for triple interface) I bought this HDD when my old Lacie Porsche Design finally died. This was a killer deal for price and capacity. The USB connection was about as fast as the old Firewire 400 connection and allows me to backup my Mac as well as automatically partitions a certain amount for my work PC. So the performance is there and the sleek black look with the blue status LEDs is very sexy too.

Reviews & Ratings for 1TB USB 2.0 External Hard drive (Designed by Neil Poulton) (See item 8515324 for triple interface) Purchased this all the way in CA. HD was shipped across the nation in perfect working condition. Bought this device to store my media files off of my internal HD for backup purposes. Love the simple looks and style. Have owned for a few weeks now and has performed flawlessly since then. This is my first Lacie product and if my HD continues to perform as well as it has been, Lacie may have another loyal customer. Thanks, PConnection.
