I highly recommend the new 8 GB Nano. Compared to the cheap mp3 players I've purchased, it is like stepping up from an AMC Gremlin to a BMW convertible. They both get you down the road, but you know. I think the only thing that would raise it to the level of perfection is more ease of use in iTunes itself. I've been struggling with smart playlists for my podcasts, and DRM prevents easily syncing from multiple computers. But in the grand scheme of things, this complaint is rather minor.

I recently purchased each of my kids an iPod nano from PC Commection - they have the best price around and free shipping! I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to help my kids load the music onto it and get it going...but it was the easiest thing ever! It was so user friendly and easy to set up and the operation is just as easy, my 7 yr old was a pro the first day. We love them so much, now I want one for myself! It is great that they come in the different colors so my kids won't get theirs mixed up :)

I recently purchased a 4th generation nano Ipod for my wife and I must say it's a pretty cool mp3 player. I have 5th generation Ipod video that now seems very bulky. The only issue, is with charging the battery. 4th gen. nano's are not compatible with most docking after-market products. The ipod will play but the battery will not charge when connected to car audio, or home systems. You can only charge the battery when connected to the computer or by using apple approved devices. (kind of lame of Apple to change this)
