Drive Backup! 4.0, Personal Backup Software for PCs, CD-ROM
DriveBackup! provides easy image backup and disaster recovery using the EasySteps interface, allowing even novice PC users to protect operating systems, applications, and files from malicious viruses or other software/hardware disasters. It even allows you to create bootable recovery discs on CD/DVD or internal/external drives. Drive Backup! supports media spanning, so you can seamlessly backup your entire drive to multiple discs. Compression allows you to fit more data onto every disc, saving you money. Restoring a drive is easy, just find the image backup file, choose the target partition, click Start, and DriveBackup! will do the rest. Navigate your image backup files and selectively restore individual files. It supports backup to CD-R/RW, DVD-R/-RW/-RAM, DVD+R/+RW, MO, Internal/External/Networked Hard Disks, ZipJaz, USB Pen drives, and more.

Reviews & Ratings for Drive Backup! 4.0, Personal Backup Software for PCs, CD-ROM I have only recently installed this item and should have looked a little more closely at what I was buying. Perhaps it works well enough for what it does, but it lacks some of the features I was hoping for. It does not do incremental or scheduled backups. It does not back up files one-for-one in the same formats as the originals, so forget about drive migration. It apparently uses an "image" of its own proprietary format, so forget about compatibility with anything else. At least it will backup to a hard drive, but the idea of backing up a 320 GB HD to CD-ROMs is silly, and even DVD-ROMs is a stretch. The FAQ page given in the HELP does not list this software. It instead lists BackupNOW, which has those capatilities.
