Reviews & Ratings for VTrak M610i 16-Bay 3U iSCSI SATA 3GB
I bought this unit in March expecting to gain 12tb is storage. Since I purchased this unit I have had nothing but error after error, loss of data, and numerous issues. When I purchased the original Seagate drives they were on the HCL from Promise. After a month of issues I went to double check the HCL and those drives were not listed. That’s when I started a service ticket. Promise tech support said it was a Seagate issue with the firmware. And Seagate said it was an issue with the Promise controller. After 6 months of support and buying replacement drives (approved on the HCL from Promise). I still can’t use this box.
Promise support still leads me back to the new replacement drives. These drives are used in servers of all brands and sizes. Promise is not willing to get me a replacement or a different model. So as of today I have a $9000 paper weight.
I do want to thank my sales rep at PC Connection. He has worked very hard to get the replacement drives and get replacement unit. However he does not have enough influence with Promise to get this faulty unit replaced.
