Reviews & Ratings for InfoSafe 5 Drive 2.5"/3.5" eSATA RAID SATA HDD Enclosure
I was thrilled to see the exact product I was looking for when I came to PC connection. I just lost my past system to motherboard failure, but managed to recapture my investment in SATA drives with this product. It was easy to put the drives into there carriages and easy to lock them into the power connections situated in the back. But the front door was in the way when placing the drives and the fastener broke at its upper insertion to the box. This was not consequential to installation as the lower one was sufficient to hold it in place with the outer locking mechanism. Installing the express PCI card for the eSATA was simple. The power up sequence was straight forward. Getting the correct drivers for the product took a bit of searching because the CD that came with the product did not carry the exact Vista 64 bit drivers I needed. Searching for it on the web was confusing. But tech support helped me to find it and I am running all five drives. There are times when I want the drives to power up but they do not seem to do so, until I reboot the system and then all is fine.

Pros: not expensive
Cons: not raid 5, included card may not work on all systems

Reviews & Ratings for InfoSafe 5 Drive 2.5"/3.5" eSATA RAID SATA HDD Enclosure
Had trouble getting the included PCI-E eSATA card to work with the intended server (Dell PowerEdge 2800), but luckily had a spare HP Proliant ML110 G3, which did work. Doesn't do RAID 5 as advertised (either go for big: array of drives; or, safe: mirrored pairs with a spare), but luckily Windows 2003 was able to RAID 5 the drives (which I like because I get big and safe). Only advertises being able to use 750GB drives, so not willing to try 1TB, but would be nice. I've also owned this almost a year and one of the two fans have become noisy (but will get it replaced under warranty). HOWEVER, if you focus on its pro (low cost), worth the price.
