Belkin introduces the Flip DVI-D, a compact KVM switch that supports dual-link DVI monitors, such as Apple Cinema Display monitors. Now you can access two computers using the same monitor, keyboard, mouse and set of speakers. Flip features a stylish remote that can be placed anywhere on your desk. Simply press the button to flip your monitor from one computer to the next. The KVM and cables stay behind your computers, keeping your desktop free of clutter.

Reviews & Ratings for Flip DVI-D KVM Switch with Remote It was a bit rough at first. I was trying to share a monitor, keyboard, and mouse between my PowerMac G5 (running OS X 10.4) and a Dell Latitude D620 laptop in a docking station (running Windows XP SP2).
Out of the box, things went a bit rough. It's a very "pretty" device, but I was frustrated by the fact that I couldn't get the display or input devices to work on my Mac. My laptop saw the devices after a couple of restarts, but the Mac didn't work.
I shut both computers down completely, disconnected everything, reconnected everything, and then started both machines up -- after which things worked pretty smoothly.
I really like the flip switch. It makes it very convenient to switch back and forth between machines rapidly. My only gripe is that, while the Mac sees the devices nearly instantly, it takes 5 to 10 seconds for the Win XP machine to see the input devices. (I hear the rapid fire "device connected" sounds a couple of seconds after I hit the button.) At this point, I consider the device a success, and it's so much easier to work from home now.
It has some software switching features as well, and as I understand it, you can keep the audio playing from one computer while switching the display and input back-and-forth. I barely use these features, though, since all I usually need to do is smash the button to switch between computers quickly. I basically just consider them bonuses.
I give the Flip DVI-D KVM switch 5 stars for aesthetics, 4 stars for performance and functionality, but only 3 stars for ease of use, due to the trickiness in getting it set up. (Although I might have saved some trouble if I had read the instructions to begin with, I expected it to be a bit more "plug-n-play" than it was.) I recommend this device to anyone who needs a DVI KVM switch.
