Pros: easy to add memory
Cons: not all applications can use 4 gb memory

Reviews & Ratings for 2GB PC3200 184-pin DDR SDRAM DIMM Kit for Select Intel Motherboards, PowerMac G5 Models
The memory upgrade was very easy for G5 PPC Mac. However, the motivation for the upgrade was to allow more memory on MATLAB applications. Unfortunately, they do not have provisions for over 2 GB of memory in the Macintosh version of MATLAB. It took a lot of sleuthing to figure this out.
