Pros: great sound, great dynamic range Cons: very bright blinking blue light, power stays on when mac turned off
Reviews & Ratings for Firewire 410 Mobile Recording Interface I use this strictly as an audiophile Firewire DAC. With just a couple of phone jack to RCA female adapters from Radio Shack, this does a fantastic job taking the place of a $3,000 Audiophile Firewire DAC. Great quality, and now I can listen to the 24-bit 96 kHz and 176.4 kHz high resolution files that would not pass through a USB connector. Highly recommended for this purpose.
I wish M-Audio would loose that obnoxious blinking blue light when the unit is turned off.
Although I get the power via the Firewire connection to my Mac Mini, When I turn the Mac off, the 410 stays on, which is not good.
