Reviews & Ratings for 10.5" Hi-Res Digital Photo Frame with 256MB Onboard Memory - Black The frame works well. The pictures are bright & sharp, and I had no trouble setting it up or figuring out how to use it.
However, I was disappointed by the following, ah, features:
1. You're not supposed leave it on for more than 8 hours a day. You can set automatic on/off times, at least. Since I wanted to use it in an office waiting room, I was rather annoyed to learn that I couldn't leave it on from 8-6.
2. It has a small remote. Other frames have a "pocket" on the back to hold the remote. This frame doesn't. As a result, I'm afraid the remote will get lost.
3. In slide-show mode, it shows the pictures in the same order. There's a "random" option, but it only applies to the transition effect, not the picture order.
4. The unit has a black plastic frame with a white cardboard matte around the picture. It does look like a nicely matted and framed photo -- except that they cut an 1/8" black hole in the white matte for the remote receiver. Yes, that's a minor point, but it really spoils the effect of the matte. It would have been a lot nicer if they could have hidden the receiver under the black frame.
If none of those bother you, then get this frame! But if they do, look around for a different model.
