I have a nice machine to use in the close quarters of an airplane. Then, with a disc drive plugged in, I can use it for the heavy stuff at a desk in my hotel. With the out-of-the-box Windows XP I was fully productive within 30 minutes. Installing Ubuntu Linux after getting going with Windows was straightforward.
