OEM keyboards have been getting cheaper and cheaper (quality, not price) for years. My latest PC had a keyboard so bad -- cheap feeling, rough key action, and often a missed character unless the key was pressed exactly perpendicular -- that I had to replace it. While visiting my son, I tried his Logitech G11 keyboard and loved it. I immediately ordered one from PCConnection and it was waiting for me when I got home.

Pros - Very smooth keystrokes, just the right amount of tactile feedback, handy audio controls, and the backlit keys are a big plus, especially when I'm working late.

Cons - The steps for programming the additional soft keys don't appear that easy. However, I haven't tried it yet...just read through the manual...so it might not be that bad in reality.

Bottom line - Outstanding keyboard!

I've used an Ortek MK142pro keyboard for years, but needed one with a USB connection. I tried the Logitech G11 keyboard because it has programmable (54!) keys. The "feel" of the keys is acceptable (I prefer Alps switches) and the key spacing is good. The case material is less than ideal. The backlit keys are okay, but the brightness control doesn't let them get as bright as these old eyes would like. The programming feature is a winner! Very flexible and very responsive. After a month of use I'm finding I like it more and more.
